Lee Carlson, 85, of McPherson, Kansas passed away at 5:40 a.m., Friday, October 31, 2008 peacefully at the Cedars Health Care Center in McPherson, Kansas.
Lee was born in rural McPherson, Kansas on December 31, 1922, the son of the late John Edward and Helga Louise (Peterson) Carlson.
He graduated from McPherson High School in 1940.
Lee was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in McPherson, Kansas.
Leland was a partner, co-owner and operator of Ace Plumbing, Heating, Cooling and Electrical Company in McPherson from 1962 until his retirement in 2004.
His memberships include Elk's Lodge No. 502 and McPherson Opera House, both of McPherson, Kansas, and he was a lifetime member of the Wichita Postcard Club in Wichita, Kansas.
Lee was the husband of Doris D. (Tipton) Carlson. They were married on August 12, 1945 in Lindsborg, Kansas.
Surviving members of his family include a daughter Cinda Christy and husband, Curtis of Tucson, Arizona;
a son, Rick Carlson and wife, Susan of Katy, Texas; two sisters, Edith V. Fletcher of McPherson, Kansas, and June M. Buttenhoff of Sylvan Grove, Kansas, four grandchildren; one great grandchild; other relatives and friends.
Leland was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Lillian D. Carlson and Elsie L. Doyle
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 4, 2008 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. with the family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Glidden-Ediger Chapel in McPherson, Kansas.
The funeral service will be at Trinity Lutheran Church, McPherson, Kansas, at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 with Pastor Thomas J. Hallstrom officiating.
Interment will follow at the McPherson Cemetery in McPherson, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or McPherson Opera House, both in McPherson, Kansas, in care of Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home, 222 W. Euclid Street, McPherson, Ks 67460

Dear Doris and Family...I am SO sorry for your loss. Bless his heart, he fought a good fight, didn't he?? I'll sure miss seeing him in the lab on Tuesdays and chatting with you while he did his thing. I just wanted you to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers as you go through this time.
