Earl E. "Bud" Brockway
Mr. Earl E. "Bud" Brockway, 73, of McPherson, passed away at 8:36 p.m., Tuesday, December 8th, 2009 while in the company of family members at Via Christi - St. Francis , Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas.
Bud was born in Round Springs Township in Mitchell County, Kansas on December 9, 1935, the son of Arthur Delbert and Ruth Arelyn (Dunckley) Brockway.
Bud attended the Third Creek Elementary School, and graduated from Barnard High School, Barnard, Kansas in 1952. Earl then attended Kansas State College, Manhattan, Kansas.
Bud was a member of First Baptist Church McPherson, Kansas.
Bud served in the U.S. Army.
Bud worked as a Machine Operator and became the Yard Superintendent for McPherson Concrete Products, McPherson, Kansas.
Bud Brockway was united in marriage to Janet E. Gislar on September 23, 1956 at Lincoln, Kansas. The young couple established their first home together in Lincoln, Kansas. After Bud's serve in the United States Army the couple moved to McPherson, Kansas.
Surviving family members include his loving and devoted wife of over fifty-three years, Janet of the Home, McPherson, Kansas; his daughter, Annette Bowen and her husband Doug, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; his son, Michael Brockway and his wife Janelle, of Jenks, Oklahoma. his brothers John Brockway and his wife Gladys, of McPherson, Kansas and Edwin Brockway and his wife Joyce, of Daingerfield, Texas; two granddaughters, Sarah Bowen, of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Elizabeth Bowen, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; his brother-in-law, Lex Gislar and his wife Delores, of Ottawa, Kansas. Earl was preceded in death by his parents A. Delbert and Ruth A. Brockway; a brother, Arthur L. Brockway.
Friends are invited to call on Monday, December 14, 2009 from 4 to 8 p.m. with the family present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Glidden - Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas.
Funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church, McPherson, Kansas, at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 15th, with Pastor Les Cantrell officiating.
The final resting place will be in the McPherson Cemetery McPherson, Kansas with military honors being presented by members of the American Legion Post 24 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2715 both of McPherson, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church or Relay For Life both of McPherson and they can be sent in care of the Glidden - Ediger Funeral Home; 222 West Euclid Street; McPherson, Kansas 67460..

I am so sorry for your loss. Please know that you are never alone. You can find much comfort in the Holy Scriptures which assures us at Psalms 34:18 that God is near to those broken at heart and crushed in spirit. Please accept my deepest sympathies.
