Charles R. "Charlie" Davis

Charles R. "Charlie" Davis, 81, of McPherson, Kansaas passed away on Monday, January 25, 2010 at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson, Kansas.

Charlie was born in Los Angeles, California on December 23, 1928, the son of Robert H. and Irene Margaret (Byers) Davis.

He graduated from North High School, Denver, Colorado.

Charlie was a member of Countryside Covenant Church in McPherson Kansas.

He retired as a lab tester 1 at NCRA, McPherson, Kansas after 58 years.

Charlie was a member of Moose Lodge, Hutchinson, Kansas, NCRA Retirees, McPherson, Kansas, and SAL, McPherson, Kansas.

He was the husband of Novella B. (Duncan) Davis. He was married to Bonnie Rose Buher in Denver, Colorado in 1946. She died in 1975 at McPherson, Kansas. He married Novella B. Hein on October 27, 1976 at McPherson, Kansas.

Survivors include his wife, Novella B. Davis of McPherson, Kansas; two daughters, Sherry L. (Thomas) Anderson of McPherson, Kansas, and Susan G. (Curtis) White of Westminster, California; three sons, Gary W. (Marie) Davis of Cheney, Kansas, David A. (Tanya) Hein of Wichita, Kansas, and Daniel J. (Laurie) Hein, MD of Wichita, Kansas; sister, Patricia Winn (Ken) of Los Angeles, California and brother, Steve (Nancy) Davis of Denver, Colorado; 22 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Larry D. Davis, two sisters, Nancy Etta, and Roberta.

Visitation will be Friday, January 29, 2010 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Glidden-Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas.

The funeral service will be at Glidden-Ediger Chapel in McPherson, Kansas at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2010 with Reverend Tim Holgerson officiating.

Interment will follow at McPherson Cemetery in McPherson, Kansas.
