Newland Keith Koehn
Mr. Newland Keith Koehn, 56, of McPherson, passed away at 8:10 a.m., Friday, February 5th, 2010 while in the company of family members at Memorial Home, Moundridge, Kansas.
Mr. Koehn was born in McPherson, Kansas on February 27, 1953, the son of Homer and Julia Virginia (Jantzen) Koehn.
Newland attended the Harmony County school, McPherson Junior High and graduated from McPherson High School, McPherson, Kansas in 1971.
Newland attended First Christian Church McPherson, Kansas and was a member of the Galva Christian Church.
Newland began working for Chester Schmidt moving houses for several years, worked for Triple K, and later for Moridge Manufacturing as a welder, and was last working for John's Manville in the maintanence department. Newland also had his own welding shop and built wood stoves.
Newland was a member of the Bass World Sports Tournament Association.
Newland was united in marriage to Patsy L. Jantz on September 26, 1981 at First Christian Church, McPherson, Kansas. The young couple established their first home together in McPherson, Kansas.
Surviving family members include his loving and devoted wife of over twenty-eight years Patsy Koehn of the home, McPherson, Kansas; his sister Sindie Falllis and her husband David of McPherson, Kansas; his father, Homer Koehn of Galva, Kansas; Sister-in-law, Pam Riley and her husband John, of McPherson; a nephew Trae Helms and a niece Katrina Harding and her husband Beau; a great-nephew Asa Keough; two great nieces Dacia Helms and Derika Helms; other relatives and a host of friends. Newland was preceded in death by his mother, Julia Virginia Koehn.
Friends are invited to call on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 from 4 to 8 p.m. with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Glidden - Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas.
Funeral service will be held at First Christian Church, McPherson, Kansas, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 10th, with Dr. John Gran, Sr. officiating.
The final resting place will be at the McPherson Cemetery McPherson, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks or Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders or Memorial Home of Moundridge, Kansas and they can be sent in care of the Glidden - Ediger Funeral Home; 222 West Euclid Street; McPherson, Kansas 67460.

Newland will be missed so much. We are honored to have known him. He will have lots of catching up to do with those friends that went before him. Hope they have Hockey games in Heaven. You are loved Pat and you have lots of friends here for you. God Bless You.

Newland was always nice, polite and very particular about his work. I enjoyed working with and around him for the many years that he worked at JM. All of us will miss him.

We all enjoyed Newland when he was ornery. I'll remember his little chuckle and the crinkle in the corner of his eyes. I'll also remember him everytime I see my cousin Gary, as Newland always reminded me of him. My deepest sympahty to you and his dad and sister.

Pat & Sindie,,I am sorry about your loss, I am able to smile thru tears now as i see him going full and strong with a healthy mind..God will hold you and yours in the palm of his hand..My prayers are with you.May you feel Gods mighty love surround you..

hey pat im sorry about your loss! newland was a great guy! i like taking care of him! he was my big guy! to bad i didn't get to know him and you before this! but if you need anything please come by you know where i'm at! you have my deepest condolences! at least now he's done suffering! he's at peace! i'll miss him alot! you are a very strong lady! i'm glad i got to know you!

Pat, I'm sorry for your loss, but now we can celebrate Newland's healthy mind and body. May God give you comfort in knowing he's at peace now. It was awesome caring for one as special as him...I'll never forget him. RIP, my friend.

Hey Pat, sorry to hear you and Newland's battle is over. Our thoughts are with you and our memory of Newland will always be on the houseboat in Kentucky and you and he walking through the tobaco fields in the holler. Hope to see you this spring, we will be back mid March/1st of April. Jane and Jim
