Alice C. Weber
Mrs. Alice C. Weber, 96, of McPherson, passed away at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 9th, 2010 at Cedars House, McPherson, Kansas.
Mrs. Weber was born in Dickinson County, Kansas on March 27, 1913, the daughter of the late Charles and Elma (Manon) Egbert.
Alice attended and graduated from Chapman High School, Chapman, Kansas in 1932. She attended McPherson College, McPherson, Kansas.
She was a member of Church of the Brethren McPherson, KS. She was a member of various Church organizations; and participated in Telephone ministry. She also served many funeral dinners.
She was a Homemaker and Telephone Switchboard Operator
Alice was a Girl Scout Leader for 15 years; Camp Fire Girls Board member and Leader for 21 years; LYCEA Club; Cosmos Club, Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and the Save N Share, all of McPherson.
She was the widow of Kenneth G. Weber. Alice C. Egbert was united in marriage to Kenneth G. Weber on October 30, 1935 at Holland, Kansas. He died on September 7, 1993.
Daughter(s): Kay (Fred) Jehle of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Son(s): Thaine (Kathy) Weber of Liberal, Kansas. 7 Grandchildren 12 Great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Kenneth, brothers, Orval Egbert, Harry Egbert, Jake Egbert, Claude Egbert, a sister, Rose Brown; She was also preceded in death by 7 foster brothers and 1 foster sister of the Lehman family.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 14, 2010 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Glidden - Ediger Funeral Home, with the family present.
Funeral Service will be held at Church of the Brethren, McPherson, KS, at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 15, 2010 with Pastor Chris Whitacre officiating.
Final resting place McPherson Cemetery McPherson, KS.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Church of the Brethren or The Cedars, in care of Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home.
