David Lin "Dave" Mellenbruch

Mr. David Lin "Dave" Mellenbruch, 59, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 4:20 p.m., Wednesday, February 10th, 2010 while in the company of family members at his home.

David Lin “Dave” Mellenbruch, the son of Adrian Millard and Edith Nora (Schnieder) Mellenbruch, was born March 24, 1950 at Horton, Kansas. Dave was one of five children born to this union, four sons and one daughter: Mike, Dave, Mona, Kenny, and Lowell. Dave attended the Robinson grade school and graduated from Hiawatha High School, Hiawatha, Kansas in 1968. He attended and graduated from the N.E.K.A. Welding Vo-tech school in Atchison, Kansas.

Dave was united in marriage to Dayla Diane Ritchie on May 8, 1976 at McPherson, Kansas. The young couple were blessed with the birth of two sons, Dale and Dustin.

Dave was united in marriage to Linda L. Belisle-Davidson on December 26, 2001 at Hutchinson, Kansas. This union added three daughters, Ashley, Kara and Justi. The couple established their first home together in McPherson.

Through the years Dave worked for Elpaso Natural Gas Company of Hobbs, New Mexico and In September of 1993 he returned to work for the AGCO Corporation of Hesston, Kansas where he had previously worked in his earlier years.

Dave was a Christian, loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, co-worker, and friend. His wise counsel, gracious smile, and sense of humor will be missed by those who knew and loved him. He was very proud of his children and always wanted the best for them. Dave was especially fond of his grandchildren always looking forward to their visits and times they would share together. Dave loved anything to do with the outdoors and took great pride in taking care of his yard and family. He had especially loved camping, bonfires, and fishing. Recently he was really getting into the Northeast Kansas Stock Garden Tractor pulls in Hiawatha, Kansas with his brothers.

Surviving family members include his loving and devoted wife Linda L. Mellenbruch of the home, McPherson; his son: Dale W. Mellenbruch of Denver, Colorado and Dustin L. Mellenbruch of Lubbock, Texas; his mother Edith Mellenbruch - Compton and her husband Ora of South Hutchinson, Kansas; his step-daughters: Ashley Smith and her husband Tim of McPherson, Kansas, Kara McConnaughy and her husband Casey of Inman, Kansas, and Justi Davidson and her husband Chris Mattox of McPherson, Kansas; his siblings: Mike Mellenbruch of Hiawatha, Kansas, Mona Gilmore of Salina, Kansas, Kenny "Waco" Mellenbruch and his wife Paula of Fort Worth, Texas, and Lowell Mellenbruch and wife Carol of Hutchinson, Kansas; 7 grandchildren: Javon Mattox, Michael McConnaughy, Christian Mattox, Amelia Smith, Madeline McConnaughy, Riley Mattox, and Owen Smith; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held at Glidden - Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas, at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 15th, with Chaplain Scott Watford officiating. Special music “Amazing Grace”, “Go Rest High On That Mountain”, and “Cryin For Me” will be played.

The final resting place will be at the McPherson Cemetery, McPherson, Kansas.
