Dale Stewart, 83, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, July 4th, 2012, peacefully, at Cedars Health Care Center in McPherson, Kansas.
Dale was born in Moundville, Missouri on August 11, 1928, the son of the late Ray and Alta (Edwards) Stewart.
He attended Mount Vernon High School, Mount Vernon, Missouri.
Dale was a member of First United Methodist Church McPherson, Kansas.
He served in the US Army, as a MSG, in WW II, as a MP in Berlin, Germany where he met Anneliese Krenz. They were married on February 8, 1949 in Berlin, Germany.
He worked as a district sales manager for Toms Food of Columbus, Georgia. He retired in 1992 after thirty-one years of service to the company. He then drove for Midway Motors, McPherson, Kansas after retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Anneliese F. Stewart of McPherson, Kansas; daughter, Sandy (Bob) Baldwin of McPherson, Kansas; three sons, Bruce (Kirsten) Stewart of McPherson, Kansas, Ray (Karla) Stewart of McPherson, Kansas, and David Stewart and his partner, Bill Block, of Wichita, Kansas; sister, Phyllis Schnake of Mount Vernon, Missouri, brother, Don (Viola) Stewart of Springfield, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Stewart widow of Jack, and Sue Stewart widow of Bill; seven grandchildren - Jenni (Gunner) Peterson, Jessi (Mike) Boughfman, Haley (Eric) Richards, Shayna (Luke) McElwain, Brandon (Kelley) Stewart, Kaden Stewart, and Kadee Stewart; seven great grandchildren, - Ryder and Sailor Peterson, Kendall and Kelby Boughfman, Harper Richards, Gavin and Norah McElwain
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation
A memorial service will be conducted by the Reverends Mike Marion and Harold Nelson at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2012 (which would have been Dale's 84th birthday) at the First United Methodist Church in McPherson, Kansas.
Private family graveside services will be at the Monitor Church Cemetery, rural McPherson, Kansas will precede the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Kansas McPherson, Kansas, or The Cedars, McPherson, Kansas in care of Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home, 222 W. Euclid Street, McPherson, Kansas 67460.

Sorry for the loss of your father, my heartfelt prayers go out to you. I remember you mentioning what he did for a living in school and you seemed so happy for him. I see you inherited his strong work ethic!

To the Stewart family: I am so very, very sad to read this. I always loved seeing Dale as a driver for Midway. He was always smiling and happy. We had quite the conversations. He was a wonderful person and I'm sorry for your loss! My prayers are with you all.
