Mrs. Belva Marilyn Freund, 75, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 12:30 p.m., Sunday, May 10th, 2009 peacefully at the Cedars House, McPherson, Kansas. Mrs. Freund was born in Little River, Kansas on October 20, 1933, the daughter of Dan and Pauline (Moore) Brayton.Belva attended the Little River grade schools and graduated from Little River High School, Little River, Kansas. She then attended Brown Mackie College in Salina, Kansas where she received her business degree.She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church McPherson, Kansas where she was member of St. Joseph's Altar Society. Belva was a Homemaker and worked as a clerk for Pyle Construction Company for a few years prior to working as a secretary and bookkeeper for Kit Manufacturer of McPherson, Kansas. Belva was united in marriage to Edgar Mathew 'Eddie' Freund on May 20, 1953 at the Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, Little River, Kansas. Surviving members of her family include her loving and devoted husband of over fifty-five years, Eddie Freund, of the home, McPherson, Kansas; her children, Robert Freund and his wife Kay, of Houston, Texas, Teresa Freund, of El Dorado, Kansas, Jeanne Kay Lutz and her husband Leon, of Denver, Colorado, and Randy Freund, of San Diego, California; her sister, Judy Jefferys and her husband Howard, of Denver, Colorado; her brother, Wayne Brayton and his wife Nancy, of Glasco, Kansas; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.Belva was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Lester Dean Brayton.Rosary service will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, McPherson, Kansas.A Mass of Chrisitian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, McPherson, Kansas, at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, June 20, 2009, with Father David Lies officiating.Friends are invited to call for a time of sharing on Saturday, June 20, 2009 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, McPherson, Kansas. The final resting place will be at the Bean Cemetery Little River, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church or the Cedars Health Care Center both of McPherson and they can be sent in care of the Glidden - Ediger Funeral Home; 222 West Euclid Street; McPherson, Kansas 67460.
