Mrs. Blanch L. Elbert, 91, of McPherson, passed away at 2:04 p.m., Monday, June 13th, 2011 at McPherson Care Center, McPherson, Kansas. Mrs. Elbert was born in Drumright, Oklahoma on May 17, 1920, the daughter of Everett and Nola Myrtle (Cruzan) Rodelander.Blanch attended the McPherson grade schools and graduated from McPherson High School, McPherson, Kansas in 1938. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church McPherson, Kansas where she has been a member for over 50 years. Blanch was a homemaker and worked for Boeing Aircraft, in Wichita, Kansas during WWII. Blanch was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2715 Ladies Auxiliary, McPherson, Kansas. Blanch L. Rodelander was united in marriage to Paul W. 'Pudge' Elbert on October 27, 1940 in McPherson, Kansas. Pudge died on October 19, 1988 Surviving family members include her sons, Richard Elbert and his wife Linda of Springfield, Missouri and Bruce Elbert and his wife Marlys of McPherson, Kansas; her 8 grandchildren, Troy Elbert and his wife Crissy of St. Joseph, Missouri, Chelsie Fowler and her husband Gabe of U.S. Air Force in Idaho, Chad Frasher of St. Joseph, Missouri, Tony Frasher and his wife Kerry of Maysville, Missouri, Tara Frasher of St. Joseph, Missouri, Eli Elbert of Lyons, Kansas, Tyler Elbert of McPherson, Kansas, and Erick Elbert of Manhattan, Kansas; 21 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.Blanch was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Pudge; a grandson, Dustin Elbert; a great-grandson, Jaymie Elo; brother, Jack Rodelander, and sister, Mildred Rodelander.Friends are invited to call on Thursday, June 16, 2011 from 3 to 7 p.m. with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at Glidden - Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas. Funeral Service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, McPherson, Kansas, at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 17th, with Reverend H. Dick Reynolds, Jr. officiating. The final resting place will be in the Crestwood Memorial Park Cemetery rural McPherson, Kansas. Auxiliary services will be provided by members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2715 Ladies Auxiliary.Memorial contributions may be given to Kansas Hearing Impaired or First Presbyterian Church and they can be sent in care of the Glidden - Ediger Funeral Home; 222 West Euclid Street; McPherson, Kansas 67460.
