E. Charles Ford, 79, of McPherson, passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 while in the company of family members at Memorial Hospital, McPherson, Kansas. Charles was born in Lehigh, Iowa on March 9, 1931, the son of the late Everett C. and Ilda Leona (Carpenter) Ford who survives him of McPherson..He attended Webster City High School, Webster City, IowaCharles was affiliated with Church of the Brethren McPherson, Kansas. He worked as a production supervisor at ChemStar Products, McPherson, Kansas. He worked for the company.for twenty-three years. He also worked as a concrete foreman for Pyle Construction Company for ten years, both of McPherson, Kansas.Charles was the husband of Gladys M. (Madden) Ford. They were united in marriage on October 3, 1948 at McPherson, Kansas. Survivors include his wife, Gladys of MCPherson, Kansas, mother Ilda L. Ford of McPherson, Kansas; two daughters, Cynthia (Max) Nelson of McPherson, Kansas, and Bettie Ruth McNeill of Canton, Kansas; two sons, Charles 'Bill' W. Ford of Fruita, Colorado, and James D. (Elly) Ford of Wichita, Kansas; sister, Esther A. (Philip) Urqiola of McPherson, Kansas; two brothers, Melvin L. (Nita) Ford of McPherson, Kansas, and Warren W. (Brenda) Ford of Independence, Missouri; a grandson, Michael Shane Ford, Hutchinson, Kansas; fifteen grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his father; three brothers, Otis, David, and Dennis Ford; two great-grandsons, C. J. Watson and Christopher Charles KrauseAt the family's request there will be no visitationGraveside Service be at McPherson Cemetery, McPherson, Kansas, at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 2, 2010, with Reverend Max Nelson officiating.
