James E. Markle, 88, of New Athens, Illinois, born September 30, 1923, died Saturday, May 19, 2012, in New Athens, Illinois. Mr. Markle was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Spearman, Texas. He loved farming and had horses, which he gave riding lessons to the local youth.He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Frances (Schroder) Markle; a son James Markle; a daughter, Sharon Markle; his parents, Elmer and Edella (Smith)Markle; two brothers, E.J. and Ernest Markle; and a sister, Donna Morris.Surviving are his sons, Alvin D.
