Janice Marie Meyer

August 11, 1944 - February 11, 2022

Janice Marie Meyer, 77, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 10:15 a.m., Friday, February 11th, 2022 at Kansas Heart Hospital, Wichita, Kansas. Janice was born in Beloit, Kansas on August 11, 1944, a daughter of Dorotha (Jarvis) and Ralph Bohnert. Janice attended the Jewell grade schools and graduated from Jewell High School, Jewell, Kansas. She then attended Brown Mackie Business School, Salina, Kansas Janice Marie Bohnert was united in marriage to Gregory Lee Meyer on June 20, 1981 at Grace Lutheran Church, McPherson, Kansas. The couple established their first home together in McPherson, Kansas. Janice was a homemaker and she took great pride in providing for her family in this manner. She worked for Farmers Alliance Insurance Company for 30 years. Janice was a member of member of the American Legion Post 24 Ladies Auxiliary and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2715 Auxiliary both of McPherson and the International Harvester Kansas Chapter 3. Janice enjoyed cooking and was the best. She and Greg both enjoyed all the trips with the members of the International Harvester Kansas Chapter 3. She also enjoyed collecting dolls. She is survived by her husband Greg Meyer, of McPherson, Kansas; her son, Sean Meyer, of Moundridge, Kansas; her step - daughter, Christina Pishne and husband Eric, of Blue Rapids, Kansas; her sister Beth Bohnert, of Topeka, Kansas; her six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; her mother-in-law, Edith Meyer of Hastings, Nebraska; her sister-in-law, Janey Sittner and husband Roger, of Hastings, Nebraska; other relatives and a host of friends. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothya and Ralph Bohnert. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 19th 2022 at Glidden - Ediger Chapel in McPherson, KS with Pastor Lynn Scott officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to International Harvester Kansas Chapter 3 or the Janice Meyer Memorial Fund and they can be sent in care of the Glidden - Ediger Funeral Home; 222 West Euclid Street; McPherson, Kansas 67460.
