Marjorie Grace Tolle, 89, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 6:20 p.m., Sunday, August 13th, 2017 while in the company of family members, at Cedars House . Marjorie was born in Mankato, Kansas on October 11, 1927, a daughter of Lydia Grace (Neiman) and Herman Adolph Quiring. Marjorie attended the Park and Washington grade schools, McPherson Junior High and graduated from McPherson High School, McPherson, Kansas in 1945. She then graduated from Ward Belmont College, Nashville, Tennessee, in 1947 and McPherson College in 1952 when she graduated with her Bachelors degree in Chemistry and Biological Sciences. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church McPherson, Kansas. Marjorie was a homemaker and she took great pride in providing for her family in this manner. She also worked as an accountant for H.& R. Block, and later for Oxwell Incorporated both of Wellington, Kansas, for Weavers Department Store, Lawrence, Kansas, for the Certain-Teed Corporation and worked as a Lathe Operator, and Siding attendant up until her retirement. After retirement she worked for Braums Ice Cream and Dairy Store, cashier for Jubilee Foods, worked for the Wild Orchid Bistro, and as a cashier for Dillons Grocery Store. Marjorie was a member of the McPherson Lions Club and volunteered at the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary . She enjoyed traveling, music, spending time with family especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marjorie Quiring was united in marriage to Willard K. Tolle on September 1, 1949 at the First Presbyterian Church, McPherson, Kansas. Willard died on September 4, 1974.. She is survived by her children, A. Vaughn Tolle and his significant other Norma LaGalle, of Wichita, Kansas, A. Stuart Tolle, of Roxbury, Kansas, William C. Tolle and his wife Karen, of Galva, Kansas, Robert A. Tolle and his wife Sondra, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Julia L. Train, of Lindsborg, Kansas, and Lydia G. Flax and her husband James, of Bison, Kansas; her sister-in-law, Mary Beth Peterson and her husband Bruce, of Topeka, Kansas; her 13 grandchildren, Cheryle Train, Shannon Train (Joni), Kelly Strait (Matt), Lindsay Tolle, Daniel Tolle (Devon Bersuch), Jason Tolle (Morgan), Jami Messner (Darrel), Mindi Parsell (Matt), Dana Tolle, Sara Hocking (Billy), Jacob Flax, Jesse Flax, and James Flax; her 10 great-grandchildren, Blake Train, Lorelei Train, Rebecca Strait, Eleanor Strait, Madison Tolle, Rylie Tolle, Samantha Tolle, Justin Messner, Noelle Messner and Joseph Parsell, with one on the way; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, H.A. and Grace Quiring; her husband Willard; a brother, Robert A. Quiring; a daughter-in-law Judy Tolle; and a sister-in-law Betty Quiring. Friends are invited to call on Friday, August 18, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Glidden - Ediger Chapel, McPherson. The memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, McPherson, Kansas, at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 19th 2017 with Reverend Chris Whitacre officiating. The final resting place will be the McPherson Mausoleum Building, McPherson Cemetery, McPherson, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church or Kansas Lions Band Foundation and they can be sent in care of Glidden - Ediger Funeral Home; 222 West Euclid Street; McPherson, Kansas 67460.
