Our History

Our History

Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home had its beginnings in 1884 as Maltby's Furniture and Undertaking Company. The name was changed to Quiring's in 1927, when David Maltby sold the firm to O.P. and Herman Quiring.

They moved the funeral home to its present location, at Euclid and Walnut, in 1933 following a fire that destroyed the building at 200 North Main.

In 1962 Herb and Mary Glidden purchased the firm and changed its name to Glidden Funeral Home. They then sold the firm to Troy Glidden and Ed Ediger in 1991 and the Ediger name was added.  In 2014 Ed retired.

The foundation of trust, integrity, reliability and service the firm has earned was built by generations of caring professionals.
